Why CrossroadsWithDebbie ?
When someone is at a life crossroad, it means they are facing a significant decision or a turning point where they must choose between different paths or options. These options can involve life choices, career changes, relationships, or personal goals. Many times, it signifies a period of reflection and consideration before making the decision that could impact their life, and sometimes it is an amygdala brain response making a fight, flight, or freeze decision in an instant.
I feel it important to mention that I am a Christian woman, excepting Christ at the age of 16, but not truly understanding the full concept of what this meant until my late 20’s. Yes, I accepted that Christ died and rose again, that he is the son of God and is also God, and that as God, he is my Heavenly father. That for me was the easy part, feeling worthy of this love was the difficult part of Christianity. I was taught very early in life that I was not worthy or good enough. Not for the food on the table, clothes on my back, not any comfort of life that most children are freely given, I had to earn and was reminded it was not enough.
As a Christian and facing a crossroad of life, we are to ask God for direction. James 1:5 says, “if you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will net rebuke you for asking.” Yes, God wants to give us guidance for our lives. So, when facing an illness, financial challenges, or a troubling personal relationship, ask God for guidance.
I want to share parts of my past that have made me, me. Yes, those choices made right, wrong, or indifferent that have created the woman I see daily in the mirror, and why it might help others make a choice when faced in a similar situation. We all have life situations that we need to take time to think about and others that need an immediate decision. Either way, I challenge you to pray for guidance, and even in those times you may have made a wrong choice, I promise there is a road to recovery. Thats the great thing about the road of life, there are many ways to get from point A to point B and sometimes we just need to enjoy the ride. And when you get to the bumps in the road, I will give you the advice my great grandmother told me, “Hold your hat and don’t stand up.” She would be about 130 years old if still alive, so knowing that, can you guess why this was sound advice?
